Please according to the following setup orders to install the Pro/Intralink 8.0
1. Install Tomcat5
Before you install Tomcat, please ensure your computer has installed J2SE SDK 1.4.2_07 or +
if not, please visit the following URL to download and install the latest J2SE SDK, current latest version is 1.4.2_12
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html

suggest install the J2SDK under the root directory e.g. d:\j2sdk1.4.2_12,

Please write down the directory on paper, tomcat/aphelion/info*engine setup will use it.
Insert CD3:R8.0 WINDCHILL THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE CD M020
install Tomcat ,run setup_tomcat.vbs to install, if error800A01AD,run x:\Tomcat\Disk1\InstData\Windows\NoVM\setup.exe(win). Tomcat will listen the port 8010 (defalut), slect the J2sdk directory d:\j2sdk1.4.2_12 , use default port:8010 and 8006 ,Next, install, finished.
Please write down the tomcat5 port# on paper, apache setup will use it.
Please write down the tomcat5 directory on paper, Info*Engine setup will use it.
2.Intall Apache
Still Insert CD3:R8.0 WINDCHILL THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE CD M020
run setup_apache.vbs (if error800A01AD,please use x:\Apache\Disk1\InstData\Windows\NoVM\setup.exe)
assign the directory,and write it down, Info*Engine setup will use it.
keep the DNS host name and default http port 80 and https port 443,
Please write down the apache DNS hostname on paper, Info*Engine/Crete Database/Winchill Service setup will use it.
next,
assign the apache adminstrator's email, next, assign the tomcat host name, if it's the same host with the Apache,keep the default Tomcat hostname: localhost and default port 8010, next,install, finished.
3.Setup Aphelion
Insert CD9:R8.0 WINDCHILL APHELION DIRECTORY SERVER CD F000
use typical setup option to install Aphelion Directory Server for Windchill 8.0
assign the directory,next, browse to the J2SDK directory,next,
Set the aphelion administrator name ,please keep the default name:
cn=Manager
and set the password, please write down the administrator name and password. Info*Engine setup will use it.
keep the default port# 389, next, assign the unused mapping driver# e.g. R:
next, finished.

4.Install Info*Engine
Insert CD CDA:R8.0 WINDCHILL INFO*ENGINE CD F000
also use typical setup options to install it. assign the directory e.g. d:\ptc\Windchill_8.0, WindChill Service/Windchill Solutions/Language Files setup will use it.
browse to the J2SDK directory, next, keep the default, next, input the Aphelion LDAP password which you set in step3
next, assign the apache directory,next,assign the tomcat5 directory,next,till finished.
5.Install Oracle OSA and Oracle database:
Insert CD1:Oracle Software Assistant 2.0 for Pro/Intralink 8.0 M030
run setup.vbs to install, assign the directory, e.g. d:\ptc\osa
then it will ask you to insert the following CDs in file:
CDB:ORACLE 9.2.0.1.0 FOR WINDOWS CD SET 2002000 CD1
CDC:ORACLE 9.2.0.1.0 FOR WINDOWS CD SET 2002000 CD2
CDD:ORACLE 9.2.0.1.0 FOR WINDOWS CD SET 2002000 CD2
CDE:R9IR2 ORACLE 9.2.0.7.0 PATCH FOR WINDOWS CD 2002003
CD1:Oracle Software Assistant 2.0 for Pro/Intralink 8.0 M030
for all please use default value,the following items are set for you:
Oracle database listener port:1521 (default)
Oracle installation directory: d:\ptc\osa\oraprod (if the osa directory is d:\ptc\osa)
6. Use OCU(Oracle Configuration Utility 8.0 M020) Creat WindChill Database:
Set the ORACLE_HOME system environment variable to the oracle installation directory. e.g. d:\ptc\osa\oraprod
Insert CD3:R8.0 WINDCHILL THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE CD M020
run setup_ocu.vbs (if error800A01AD,run x:\OCU\Disk1\InstData\Windows\NoVM\setup.exe)
Selet CREAT DATABASE, Next, assign the Oracle directory, e.g. d:\ptc\osa\oraprod ,next,assign the OCU dirctory,
e.g. d:\ptc\ocu_8.0, next,
selet the database size, suggest select big (23000MB) [23GB],if just demo or test, please selet 4000MB (4GB)
Now fill the Oracle host name, please fill the host name which it has installed OSA in the step5
fill the oracle listener port: 1521 (default)
fill the Oracle Database SID:wind (default)
7. Install Windchill Services:
insert CD CD7:R8.0 WINDCHILL SERVICES CD F000 , run setup_wnc.vbs. Typical installation type,
assign the Windchill Info*Enginer directory, e.g. d:\ptc\Windchill_8.0 (Step4 you assigned)
Next, Identifier value for the Windchill server, please use the default: Windchill
next, Creat the Windchill administrator account name and password. don't forget the administrator account,you'll use the account to admin the Windchill server. asign the organization name and domain name,next,
assign the Oracle user name: guest (default) and set its password, don't forget the password(default is guest), it is the Database account, next till finished.
8. Install the Windchill Solution---Pro/Intralink 8.0
Insert CD8:PRO/INTRALINK 8.0 CD F000 , run setup.vbs, typical installation type,next, assign the Windchill Services directory(step7 assigned) e.g. d:\ptc\Windchill_8.0
next,till finished.
9.Install Language File:
Use CD5:R8.0 WINDCHILL MULTILANGUAGE PACK (ASIAN) CD M010 or CD6:R8.0 WINDCHILL MULTILANGUAGE PACK (EURO) CD M010 to install one or more languages. use same directory with Windchill services, e.g. d:\ptc\Windchill_8.0
10. USe OCU to creat Database User account and Database Objects.
Insert CD3:R8.0 WINDCHILL THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE CD M020, run setup_OCU.vbs, Ok,NEXT,Select Creat User Account and Database Objects configuration type,next,assign the Oracle directory(default:use ORACLE_HOME variable which you assigned in step5),Next,OCU installation directory(use default),next,
Connet to database,
user SYSTEM password:input the password and remember it!
Serivce Name : wind (Here should input Oracle Database SID:wind (default))

if can't check the service name, please use Start>Programs>Oracle -OSIA_ORA> Configration and Migrattion Tools>eInstallation Product>Net Configration Assistant to reconfigure it. or manually modify it by opening the file:
d:\ptc\osa\oraprod\network\admin\tnsnames.ora file (if your OSA directory is d:\ptc\osa)
the tnsnames.ora file like this:

then next, input the following values ( must match the Oracle Database User name and password that you specified in step7) :
Oracle datebase user: guest (default)
Oracle datebase user password: guest (default, if changed it in step7, please fill the changed password)
Next, input the name of
the default tablespace: USERS (default)
and
the temporary tablespace:TEMP (default)
please use defalut values.
then assign the location of the creat_ddl_wt.sql file. This file is bundled with Windchill Services and it is locatioed in here:
d:\ptc\Windchill_8.0\db\sql\create_ddl_wt.sql (if the Windchill services directory is d:\ptc\Windchill_8.0)
Next,setup, finish.
if you want windchill support Multi-byte charactor e.g. Chinese, Japanese, you should do the following before assign the creat_ddl_wt.sql location.
Click Start>Programs\Windchill_8.0>Windchill Shell
then run the following DOS commands:
xconfmanager -s wt.db.maxBytesPerChar=3 -t /codebase/wt.properties -p
cd bin
javagen.bat registry false false true false false
11. Verify System Configuration:
Start Apache and Tomcat: On Windows,click Programs from your Start menu,select the Windchil_8.0 menu and Select Apache,After Apache starts,select Tomcat from the same Programs>Windchill_8.0 menu, you can minimize the apache and tomcat windows ,but don't close them.
Then start the Windchill method server:On windows, Start>Programs>Windchill_8.0>Windchill Method Server
Then Click Start>Programs\Windchill_8.0>Windchill Shell
Verify authentication by executing the following command in the Windchill Shell window:
windchill wt.auth.Authentication
When you are prompted to login,enter the administrator and password that was created in Step7

12.Intall Windchill Service Pack
use CD2:Windchill 8.0 Service Pack CD M020
