Unable to find Exceed X Server

solution:
That happens when you try to start Gambit without specifying a session-id (then Gambit by default chooses the name default_id) and somehow a lock file default_id.lok from a previous session prohibits the use of the default session-id. Solution: Remove the file default_id.lok. Mind, that this problem does not occur, if you give a session-id at the command prompt, as it would be recommended.
